Have You Earned Your Tomorrow

By Edgar Guest

Is anybody happier because you passed his way? Does anyone remember that you spoke to him today? This day is almost over, and its toiling time is through; Is there anyone to utter now a kindly word of you?

Did you give a cheerful greeting to the friend who came along? Or a churlish sort of "Howdy" and then vanish in the throng? Were you selfish pure and simple as you rushed along the way, Or is someone mighty grateful for a deed you did today?

Can you say tonight, in parting with the day that's slipping fast, That you helped a single brother of the many that you passed? Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said; Does a man whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead?

Did you waste the day, or lose it, was it well or sorely spent? Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent? As you close your eyes in slumber do you think that God would say, You have earned one more tomorrow by the work you did today?

We’re already in the middle of the coldest season of the year. But if you haven’t exactly got your Winter fashion routine down pat, it isn’t too late to catch up on the hottest Fall/Winter 2019-2020 trends. What’s interesting this season is that we’re seeing many contrasting trends on the runway: from bourgeois VS punk spirit to preppy VS dominatrix, this season’s fashion themes have been inspired by an array of eras and movements. Yet, somehow the sheer imperfectness of this mix makes for the perfect winter wardrobe.

Let’s start with bourgeois fashion, which dominated the latest runway collections. In a clear nod to the late 1970s – early 1980s style, the trend is all about elegance and precision. A proper bourgeois capsule wardrobe would incorporate refined silhouettes, blazers, pleated trousers, and trench coats, making for the ideal night day-to-day business wardrobe.

Another trend that’s making its presence known is punk fashion. It’s a flashback to the grungy, androgynous style of the late 1980s and early 1990s that makes us seriously nostalgic for Nirvana and plaid everything. If you’re into standing out, this is definitely the seasonal look to get on board with. Bonus: you’ll get to rock that vintage Alexander McQueen studded jacket you keep at the back of your closet. Because let’s be real, we were all just waiting for those to come back in style again.

Thankfully for those of us who love a varied and bustling wardrobe, there is an unlimited assortment of fashion trends to choose from this season. We recommend mixing and matching so that you get a little taste of each one. After all, fashion is about having fun, especially in 2020. It’s a good time to be alive, folks.
