We all have those days where we just don’t know what to wear. No matter how many clothes are crammed into our closets, we tend to wind up with half of our dresses on the floor and half a mind to head over to our local department store to buy something new. However, there is really no occasion that induces a higher level of wardrobe indecision than our annual office Christmas party. Not only do you have to impress your date for the evening, but you have to wow your colleagues and boss too, all while maintaining a work-appropriate appearance. Not exactly a cake-walk. But luckily, there are plenty of ways to make your office party outfit work.

As always, it’s best to start with the basics. And by that, we mean the classic wardrobe staple that every woman should already own: a little black dress. The LBD is classy, super versatile, and can easily be dressed up or down, depending on the vibe of your office’s holiday bash. To jazz things up, try adding a sparkly choker and a pair of sky-high stilettos. For a more casual look, pair your LBD with a slouchy black blazer and some strappy sandals. Keep in mind that when it comes to the holiday season, it’s pretty hard to be too over-the-top. In fact, Christmas and New Year’s parties are the perfect time to try out your sparkliest looks.

If you’re aiming for a more low-key look, try taking your usual uniform and just switching up the texture to something a bit more festive. For instance, if you feel most comfortable in a nice top and jeans, try wearing a blouse made in a velvet fabric. Or, simply toss on a faux-fur coat and call it a day. Another way to dress up a laidback outfit is by adding some fabulous statement jewelry. From disco ball earrings to blinged-out rings, adding accessories to your look is a great way to add character and pizzazz to a more conservative look. Of course, no matter what outfit you decide to wear, the most important accessory you can bring to your office’s Christmas get-together is some serious party spirit, so don’t leave home without it!
