Are you thinking of redecorating your home but now you are stuck deciding between wallpaper or paint? That’s okay, these are two really great options and it’s easy to get stuck deciding. Now yes, both these options are easy to access and easy to use. They are also both used for the same purpose. But in all fairness, they are quite different. Here you will get the breakdown you need to make the decision you need.

A good thing to consider when deciding to use paint or wallpaper would be time. How long each of these decorating methods can take will impact your remodel. You may think that painting takes less time but that’s not exactly accurate. When painting you will need at least a coat of primer and two coats of paint. Do keep in mind that each coat will need to dry.

When it comes to preparation, there seems to be a tie. You see, you will need to prepare your walls whether you are using wallpaper or pain. Your walls will need to be smooth for both materials. If a wall is uneven and has bums or holes when you use paint or wallpaper, you will have uneven application and by the end, it will look very untidy. It is safe to say that both paint and wallpaper require a good amount of preparation before application.

Another good point is that with wallpaper you are limited to design options, with paint you aren’t. Many wallpaper options come with designs already printed on it. This means that you will really love the designs you choose. It also means that if you don’t like the wallpaper design after a while you will need to remove the wallpaper, which is a process in and of itself. With paint, you don’t have this problem.
