Disney Channel veteran Vanessa Hudgens and YouTube star Madison Beer have combined their passion for skincare in their next project, Know Beauty. Launching today, June 22nd, the new brand is nothing like other cosmetics brands we have tried before. The concept behind this personalized skincare line is that each customer will take a test and get recommendations depending on their particular skin type.

To truly comprehend each person’s skin, Dr. Karen Kagha, M.D., Know Beauty’s third co-founder and chief medical officer, designed a quiz and DNA test that determine what your skin needs. First, the skin diagnostic test asks you about numerous environmental and lifestyle factors that could have an influence on your skin, such as climate, air quality, and daily habits. Once the online test is completed, the company sends you a DNA test which is analyzed in their lab for seven skin traits: elasticity, collagen quality, glycation, UV protection, hyperpigmentation, antioxidant protection, and sensitivity.
Combining genetic and external factors, Know Beauty can recommend products for each person’s exact skin type. At the moment, the brand is launching across the U.S. with 17 products to start. Among the items are the Bubbling Oxygen Mask, Vanessa’s favorite; the Detoxifying Charcoal Mask, Madison’s pick; and the Resurfacing Night Serum, Dr. Kagha’s recommendation.
