Mirrors are one of the best items when it comes to interior decor. Placed in the right position, they can brighten up rooms, open up spaces, and so much more. However, bad mirror placement could make any room feel crammed and poorly organized. Here are some of our favorite tips to make the best of mirrors in interior decor.

The Bigger, The Better

Large mirrors have the power of completely transforming a room. When picking the size of yours, don’t be afraid of going for it – the larger the mirror, the more light it will reflect. In turn, it will make your space feel larger than it actually is. A good trick is leaning a full-length mirror against the wall to make small spaces look a lot bigger.

Placement Is Everything

Mirrors can definitely open up spaces and create brightness – if they are placed correctly. Something that most people tend to forget is what the mirror will reflect when hung on the wall. Hanging a mirror in front of an important architectural element or piece of decor will highlight it, but the same is valid for unattractive items in the room.

When hanging a mirror on a wall, consider the sources of light in that room. Placing a mirror across from a window will double the amount of light in that space, making it feel a lot brighter and airier. Take advantage of the sunlight!
