In this day and age, the conscious traveler wants to lessen their environmental impact while still having a fun, memorable vacation. TheLAB aims to create a unique staycation experience for South Africans while providing eco-conscious travel. Offering guests a gorgeous green escape with an ethos rooted in ensuring the survival of the planet, theLAB has three locations in the Western Cape. The accommodations are located in Roberston, Cape Town, and Franschoek. Each property has a ton of cool amenities and services from spa treatments to wine tasting. The Franschhoek location is in the epicenter of wine country and is a complete escape from city life. Are you ready to pack your bags? Us too.

Each property includes the finer things in life including award-winning restaurants and wine farms. Each property aims to reduce its carbon footprint. TheLAB incorporates an automotive system prompted by voice commands called Echo. What does that mean? Well, a guest can request Echo to lift their blinds, turn the shower on, and even ask for a cup of coffee. Talk about futuristic! All three locations offer minimalist interior that will clear your mind and put your brain on vaca-mode. But you won’t be missing the modern touches such as a television, mini bar, aircon, and more. Guests can also enjoy the pool and jacuzzi. Jos Balk, the owner of theLAB, is passionate about the environment. “There is no plan B. TheLAB is working towards having a zero footprint impact on mother nature,” he said.
