The Ideal Skincare Routine
Social media makes you believe that you need many fancy skincare products to make your skin look flawless. That is not entirely the case- in addition to good products, depending on your skin type, you need to apply them in the right manner to achieve the desired results. This article will provide a skincare routine, ensuring you apply them in order of texture from thinnest to thickest. This ensures that each product penetrates your skin effectively.

Start by washing your face and running a small amount of gentle cleanse between your palms. Then massage this cleanser across your face but make sure to not be too harsh. Once you’ve rinsed your face, gently wipe your face dry with a soft, clean towel. If you were wearing makeup, make sure to remove the makeup with micellar water before rinsing your face.
The next step is to apply toner – add a few drops into your palms or on a cotton pad. Gently wipe it on your face. If your skin is sensitive, make sure to not use harsh, exfoliating cleansers. Next, apply a serum to your skin. In the mornings, vitamin C serums are an excellent choice since they protect your skin throughout the skin. At night, zinc and niacinamide serums are a good choice, especially if you have acne-prone skin.
Another step to add to your skincare routine, if you have acne-prone skin, is spot treatment mainly at night. You can use over-the-counter creams which contain salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. However, if they are irritating your skin, dilute the product and use them on alternate nights.
Lastly, end your skincare routine by applying moisturizer followed by sunscreen. Moisturizer not only hydrates your skin but also locks in all the other products you have applied before. For mornings, use a lightweight moisturizer and you can use a thicker one at night. Once you have applied sunscreen, which should preferably be a broad-spectrum SPF, wait 20 minutes before going outside!
