Do you enjoy having people stay over at your home? Or have you noticed that friends and family members tend to spend the night often? If yes, then you definitely need a guest bedroom. Don’t worry, just because you have a guest bedroom doesn’t mean that your home is a hotel. All it means is that you would like your guests to be comfortable when spending the night. The last thing you want is to have your guests sleeping on your couches or even the floor. If you already have a dedicated room for guests, then half your planning is done. Now you simply need to add the essentials.

When it comes to your guest room, you really want to feel like a home away from home. Now it doesn’t have to be fancy like a five-star hotel room but it should make your guests feel comfortable. With that said, you definitely need to have a bed for your guests to sleep on. There are a number of different bed sizes that you can choose from but it is always safe to go with a standard double bed. This way kids and adults can sleep in it. The bed will obviously need pillows and blankets on it. It is always a good idea to provide one or two extra blankets just in case your guest needs it.

Next, you will want to give them some storage space for their clothing. This can be a dresser or even a cupboard. You should also provide your guests with basic toiletries. This will include towels, toilet paper, toothpaste, shower gel, and mouthwash. Try to have these all ready in your guest bathroom. Now if you would like to go the extra mile, you could decorate the room. You can do this by adding in a mirror, a clock, and some artwork. It is important to remember that your guests might need to charge their electronic devices such as their phones so they will need a power supply in the room.
