You may think that listening to music while trying to sleep will only keep you awake. This isn’t completely right. Whether you stay awake or fall asleep while listening to music, largely depends on the type of music you listen to. You see, something that is upbeat and loud, may not allow you to fully switch off and fall asleep. Songs that have lyrics in them may also prevent you from falling asleep. This is because you will end up finding the song or music more entertaining than soothing. With that said, songs or music that don’t contain lyrics is highly recommended to use while trying to fall asleep.

But that’s not all. You will also want to listen to songs that are much slower. This means that you should try to steer clear of songs that are upbeat and fast. With that said, there are loads of white noise songs that you can listen to in order to fall asleep. While listening to these songs, you will notice that your breathing will slow down. Once your breathing starts to slow down, your body will soon relax. With your slow breathing and relaxed body, you will find it easier to silence your mind.
