When someone mentions vacationing in Mexico, the first places to come to mind are usually Mexico City, Cancun, or Guadalajara. Which is only natural, since those are the spots where most people typically go for a quick getaway. However, Mexico has a secret gem that we’re all missing out on. You may not have heard of the Cuixmala resort yet, but once you discover this beautiful secret, it’ll be pretty much the only thing you can think about.

Cuixmala is a privately-owned property that runs along the Pacific Coast. Located within the Chamela-Cuixmala Biosphere Reserve, this stunning retreat offers travelers the experience of a lifetime. Guests at the resort will be able to take part in activities such as yoga classes and horseback riding while indulging delicious fine-dining meals throughout the day. All of this is in addition to the beautiful views of the Mexican Pacific coastline. However, by far the most impressive thing about Cuixmala is the luxurious hotel on its premises. The vibrant orange building is incredibly appealing to the eye, attracting architect buffs and Instagram influencers alike. Luckily for guests, the interior of the hotel is just as impressive as its exterior. The Casa Cuixmala houses four suites, ten freestanding casitas (small houses), six bungalows, and three private villas. It also offers facilities such as a private pool area, a hotel bar, and a gourmet restaurant, which serves up both Mexican and Western-style dishes. All of the Casa Cuixmala’s food is made with fresh, organic produce that is homegrown on the estate’s farm.
