For your living room, jade plants (Crassula ovata) are a beautiful option. Also known as lucky plants and money trees, these succulents are considered symbols of good luck all over the world. To keep your jade plants healthy, place their pot in a well-lit area and water them occasionally.

A great choice for a bathroom that receives little natural light is a snake plant (Sansevieria). Native to Africa, this plant requires very little water and thrives in the shade. This is a great plant for someone who doesn’t remember to water their plants frequently or doesn’t have a green thumb.
