After the incredible success of their first album together, Cheek to Cheek, Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga have announced the release of a second collaboration. With great reviews from specialized media and a number one debut on the Billboard 200, Cheek to Cheek was everything Gaga and Bennett could have expected and more.

Their first collaboration was a turning point in Gaga’s career, according to her. She has previously said that she now sees Bennett as a father figure and a mentor and that his recognition of her talent was when everything changed. When it was released back in September 2014, Cheek to Cheek sold 131,000 copies in its very first week – becoming Gaga’s third consecutive number-one album and Bennett’s second. It also made Lady Gaga the first female artist in the last decade to have three number-one albums. In fact, the album’s success was such that Billboard actually named it the fourth most successful collaborative album of all time in the United States, considering all genres of music.

The duo started working on this new follow-up project in 2018 at New York’s Electric Lady Studios and continued recording until the beginning of 2020 – all while Gaga was on tour for the successful musical A Star Is Born and creating her latest solo album, Chromatica. But the long wait is now over. While the release date of this second album has not been yet announced, it is expected to drop in the second quarter of this year.
