You don’t have to be addicted to social media to know that self-care is really popular. Self-care has become so popular to the point where we now have self-care influencers. That’s right, there are people who get paid, to often teach us things that we already know. However, there are a few things that you may not be familiar with. Hence they have a role in society. But what is self-care exactly? After all, you get eight hours of sleep and drink enough water. So what does self-care really mean? Don’t worry, we are here to figure it out together.

If the term self-care is new to you, you may think that eating three meals a day is self-care. However, what you don’t know is that self-care isn’t about doing what you should do. This includes eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and even drinking enough water. Self-care is everything you do for yourself that may not always be a priority. This speaks to things that you do for yourself that may not be a necessity but makes your feel good. Take a moment to let that settle in. Yes, you work hard but chances are if something isn’t necessary, you don’t do it.
Don’t worry, you aren’t the only person who thinks like this. There are so many people who think like this and that’s why self-care is important. Yes, you do what you have to however, you also need to do things that make you feel okay. It is very easy to forget to take care of yourself when you are taking care of the world. But you forget that you can’t take care of the world if you aren’t okay. This is where self-care comes in. Your self-care might be different from that of your friends but that’s okay. Find what works for you.
