If the term self-care is new to you, you may think that eating three meals a day is self-care. However, what you don’t know is that self-care isn’t about doing what you should do. This includes eating a balanced diet, getting enough sleep, and even drinking enough water. Self-care is everything you do for yourself that may not always be a priority. This speaks to things that you do for yourself that may not be a necessity but makes your feel good. Take a moment to let that settle in. Yes, you work hard but chances are if something isn’t necessary, you don’t do it.

Don’t worry, you aren’t the only person who thinks like this. There are so many people who think like this and that’s why self-care is important. Yes, you do what you have to however, you also need to do things that make you feel okay. It is very easy to forget to take care of yourself when you are taking care of the world. But you forget that you can’t take care of the world if you aren’t okay. This is where self-care comes in. Your self-care might be different from that of your friends but that’s okay. Find what works for you.
