Designing Your Dorm Room
With spring semesters starting in colleges around the world, many young pupils will be moving back to their college residences. Throughout the academic year, the dorm room becomes an important part of your life. It is your own little home, away from home. You tend to spend most of your relaxation time here, making it important to design your dorm room in a manner that is comfortable to live in.
Dorm room mattresses are not the most comfortable ones out there. So, how to make them more comfortable? Invest in a mattress topper. This will make your mattress softer, ensuring you get a good night’s sleep, which is extremely essential for you to take on the day! Next, dorm rooms tend to be dull. They are painted in white, making them feel very impersonal. The best way to make the room feel like yours is to make a photo wall and add in decorations. Have a reserved space in your room where you can add in pictures of your loved ones- family and friends from back home. This will make you feel like you are connected with them, regardless of the distance. Decorations can include fairy lights and small plants. The latter will make the small dorm room feel more airy and cool!
Most dorm rooms do not have mirrors. Buy a small, portable one. These are easy to find, you can purchase one online from amazon or go to target and purchase one. Next, many dorm beds do not have headboards, and leaning against cemented walls is not at all comfortable. Invest in a headboard to make your bed feel cozy and comfortable! Purchasing all these items initially may be costly, but it will be worth every penny. It is essential that you design your dorm room in a way that makes you feel at home.
