Most of us have a dream job, or are already working our dream job if we’re lucky enough. But once you hear that Cadbury is hiring chocolate testers with no experience needed, you’ll want to think twice about how you define dream job. According to The New York Times, Mondelez International, the company that owns Cadbury as well as many other sweets is now hiring chocolate testers. They are hiring part-time workers, which could be ideal for many as a way to continue with their current profession. They are located in England, but if you need an excuse for a big move, this is your big break. Based on the reported job description, the part-time chocolate tasters will have approximately 15 hours of weekly work and will be paid a salary of $12.45 per hour. Definitely not a bad deal for such a divine task. We’ll take it!

If you’re not yet convinced that this is the world’s best job, the position also has an important fancy title. A Sensory Panelist, Confectionary. Not bad, not bad at all. The goal of the panelists is to ensure that Cadbury chocolate will be perfect and to help Mondelez launch new products across the globe. No experience is needed and they offer full training in order to enrich your taste buds to match up with the position. We’re not lying, they will really teach you how to properly taste chocolate so you can work as a professional chocolate taster. You will have the opportunity to work with fellow tasters in sensory booths and discussion rooms, collaborating ideas and senses to aim to reach an agreement on what is in fact the most delicious chocolate.
There is a small catch, of course. It’s slightly challenging in that all of the testings takes place in sensory booths that disguise the chocolates. The booths are also pressurized, so chocolate smells are prevented. It’s similar to tasting chocolate for the first time, which can also be quite exciting. So what the real challenge here is telling the difference between various chocolates. Many job applicants do not succeed to tell the difference. Who knew? If you’d like to apply, make sure you show a passion for confectionary, have strong distinctive taste buds, and are capable of always being objective and honest.
