If you are a fashion follower, you will know that the Met Gala is one of the biggest fashion events of the year. With that said everyone invited goes out of their way to match the theme and stun everyone in attendance especially Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Magazine, Anna Wintour. Now this year was truly special because everyone was in attendance. This is because the Met Gala was first canceled in 2020 due to the Coronavirus and even though it was scheduled to happen in 2021 not many celebrities. However, the red carpet was hot and heavy with a number of celebrities and designers showcasing their interpretation of this year’s Met Gala theme.

Before we get into the best dressed at this year’s Met Gala, we need to talk about the theme. If you don’t already know, each year designers and celebrities are given a theme in they need to follow. This is why the Met Gala is considered to be one of the most elite theme parties in fashion. Now the theme can really be anything and this year the theme was Gilded Glamour. There was definitely lots of room for interpretation with this year’s theme. This is probably why you would have seen a great variety of consumers on the red carpet.

Fashion much like most things is considered to be a great time capsule. This year Kim Kardashian West decided to bring history onto the Met Gala carpet by wearing a piece of history. She decided to wear the famous dress Marilyn Monro wore when she sang happy birthday to President John F. Kennedy in 1962. But she wasn’t the only best dressed at this year’s Met Gala. Blake Lively had everyone shocked with the costume change that she performed right on the stairs. This year Blake went with Atelier Versace and it’s safe to say she hit the theme right on the head.
